We do a lot of camping and I always take along at least one doll, so I decided to make the girls their own stove.  The AG one was the inspiration, but the price made me get creative.  I had everything on hand in my stash of crafting stuff, so this was cheap!

eta: the cooking stuff is from the RV accessory set by OG

Re: Campstove DIY

Nice! I go camping every summer with a stove much like this, I love it!

Hey girl! Who's there? It's me, guess where! In a book? Up a tree? Take a look, find me!

Re: Campstove DIY

That is just adorable.  Did you print out the Coleman label or peel it off something else?  I love the little beads you glued onto the front as knobs!

Fantastic, wonderful job! Very creative, I love it!

Thats Kaya, yes? Her hair is so shiny. Is it in a fishbraid? The sweater is very flattering to her. :-)

Re: Campstove DIY

Oh thank you!  I must admit I'm happy with the way the stove turned out.

I found the Coleman logo online and printed it out nice and small, cut that out and decoupaged it to the stove.

And yes, that is Kaya, a modern girl here, with a fishtail braid.  She was a great find in a flea market/antique mall with lovely hair but no outfit.  She could use tighter legs, but they've been this way for several years, so I guess I'm not in any hurry to fix that.

And I made her sweater while we were camping, so thanks for noticing it.  http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

Wow! I'm impressed with your stove. I don't know how I missed seeing it earlier.

Re: Campstove DIY

I love this! That sweater is super sweet. I just got the RV accessories so I guess I know what I will be making this weekend!

Quick question - what did you use to construct the inside of the grill? something like foam and sticks painted gray? I am sure I could figure something out but I really like the way yours came out.

Re: Campstove DIY

See, why couldn't AG have done this instead of that pink and bright monstrosity! This is brillant!

I wanted that RV OG set since I saw it at Target, this is a cool way to use it!
