early version of addy Christmas dress?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PRETTY-PLEASANT-CO-AMERICAN-GIRL-ADDY-DOLLS-TARTAN-PLAID-CHRISTMAS-DRESS-/351177542028?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51c3d0098c

Is this authentic does anyone know?  It seems most other items from the seller are from AG.

Just curious, never seen one like this before.

Thanks, Brixy

Re: early version of addy Christmas dress?

I'm thinking this is shenanigans.

1) Addy's Christmas dress was released in 1993, not 1994.
2) The tag is detached.  It could have been taken off of ANY American Girl/Pleasant Company outfit from the 1990s.
3) Official AG/PC pattern for Addy's Christmas dress is available online.
4) I have NEVER seen this kind of plaid used for Addy's Christmas dress.  EVER.  (Granted I've never seen a prototype, but if this were a prototype, then why is the alleged tag from 1994, see #1)

That said, it's a pretty dress but if you want the "real deal" then I would suggest you pass on it.

Re: early version of addy Christmas dress?

Feels like a scam to me. The plaid isn't scaled well for a doll dress, which PC and Mattel are good about, and the fact that the tag is detached is super fishy.

All that said, I can understand why you'd ask since the rest of those Addy items do seem to be legit! I was waiting to see what our fellow members would say since I was curious, too.
